Will Orthotics Help Heel Pain?
After Plantar Fasciitis, the second most common condition that clients come to Bymar Shoes with is heel pain. There are many different ways to see this issue. Sometimes it’s caused by the same problem that you have with plantar fasciitis. It is pain on the soft tissue or tendon that is attached from the ball of the foot to the heel. It is very typical to see heel pain and plantar fasciitis at the same time.
Heel pain may also be caused by heel spurs, or other causes such as a stress fracture, tendonitis, arthritis, nerve and ligament irritation. Find out if custom orthotics will help plantar fasciitis by seeing your foot doctor. Orthotics prescriptions can come only from a doctor.

Can Orthotics Help Heel Spurs?
Another occasion that heel pain occurs is when there is an excess amount of calcium that accumulates in the bottom of the heel causing a bony protrusion on the underside of the heel base. This is known as a heel spur. It is frequently associated with plantar fasciitis.
There are many ways that properly made custom orthotics can help relieve heel spur pain.

Can Orthotics Help Aging Foot Pain?
As we age, we naturally develop more problems with our feet due to normal daily wear and tear of the joints, ligaments and muscles. Aging can also mean that we develop other conditions, such as Diabetes and arthritis which in some cases can affect the foot and lead to required treatment. Healing may also take longer when you have foot conditions.
Foot pain can be worse for people who are on their feet a lot for their jobs as it may happen more quickly.
It’s important to get X-rays with severe foot pain to make sure that everything is OK on the inside. And then we can probably help out with making custom orthotics afterwards. But you must go to the doctor to be diagnosed if you don’t know what your foot pain is caused. Everybody’s feet are different so see a foot doctor to get an orthotics prescription for Bymar Shoes and Orthotics.

Bymar Shoes does NOT correct feet. The entire orthotic plan is written and decided by a doctor. We get your prescription and we follow what the doctor wants.

Do You Have Plantar Fasciitis?
Plantar fasciitis is one of the most common types of foot pain. Plantar fasciitis is caused due to an inflammation of a thick band of tissue on the bottom of the foot that connects the heel bone to the toes. Plantar fasciitis is also one of the most common causes of heel pain that we see in Bymar Shoes & Orthotics getting custom foot orthotics made. Custom Orthotics support the foot and can ease foot pain a great deal.

Why Do I Have Morning Foot Pain?
Do you have morning foot pain? Here’s a reason why. At the end of the day, you go to sleep and the foot relaxes at night. And what happens with the tendons? The tendons shrinks because when you’re in bed lying down. This is why it’s so common the first thing in the morning that people have severe pain on the bottom of their feet.
Why such bad morning foot pain? Because when you touch the ground and step on your foot after your tendon shrinks at night, the tendon starts to pull again. It’s so much pressure and strain that it yanks the tendon and it’s painful. This may also be a sign of plantar fasciitis. Only a doctor can diagnose foot pain. Please see a doctor to get an orthotics prescription to bring to Bymar Shoes & Orthotics.

What is Metatarsalgia?
Metatarsalgia is pain in the ball of the foot where the metatarsal bones meet in the middle of the foot. It’s the area between your toes and the arch. The five metatarsal bones connect your ankle bone to your toes.
It’s caused by foot deformities, jumping, running, shoes that are too tight or too loose.
Proper footwear like custom orthotics can act as a shock absorber which can help reduce the inflammation and pain caused by metatarsalgia. See your doctor to get foot pain diagnosed.

What Causes Bunions?
A bunion on the foot is when the big toe points towards the other toes on the same foot. Bunions are bony deformities of the joint at the base of the big toe. Bunions are caused by wearing tight, narrow shoes, can develop as a result of an inherited structural defect, or from stress on your foot or arthritis.
A bunion can force the first metatarsal bone on the big toe to stick outwards. The condition is painful and can become worse by tight shoes with no support.
Treatments include padding the foot, surgical removal, changing shoes. Painful bunions can be removed surgically. Custom orthotics are often worn to help reduce pain after bunion surgery. Talk with your doctor about getting a prescription for your custom orthotics.

What is a Cavus Foot?
A Cavus Foot is a condition where a person has very high arch. Cavus foot can be inherited, or it can be caused by medical conditions, neurological disorders, or diseases such as polio, stroke, spina bifida, muscular dystrophy, or cerebral palsy.
Cavus foot can be painful, there can be deformities, calluses and foot instability. Custom orthotics can help to provide pain relief and some foot corrections and stability. Shoe modifications, and corrective surgery can help to relieve the foot pain and weakness.
Custom orthotics cannot and will not correct a Cavus foot but find out from your doctor about getting a prescription for custom orthotics.

Why Do High Heels Cause Foot Pain?
Any time you wear shoes that are tight and constrictive, the natural shape of your foot, doctors say it’s bound to cause foot pain.
In addition to restricting the foot, you are also increasing the weight on the area restricted, so you’re not just crushing your toes, you’re crushing them and then putting weight on them and that causes problems.
The reason that women’s heels cause foot pain is that your foot feels better when you raise your heel. Why? Because you’re actually shortening the tight and sore tendon on the sole of your foot. This is also why when a woman wears a high heel it may seem to provide foot pain relief.
You will see what happens when you put the high heel on, that it shortens the tendon, thus the relief. But again, wearing high heels is not the solution, because sooner or later you’re going to have to come down to the floor with your foot.
What’s going to happen is that your tendon is going to hit the ground in the morning and your foot pain will return. See a doctor about the best resolution for foot pain. Find out if custom orthotics will help.

What Causes Neuromas?
And this message is to the women who want to wear the high heels, the very expensive designer shoes, well, those shoes can cause neuromas. A neuroma is a benign or non-cancerous growth of the nerve tissue that develops on the foot, usually between the third and fourth toe.
A neuroma can be a pinched nerve or become a benign growth of nerve tissue. It can be caused when you force your foot into shoes. It causes pain in the ball of the foot.
Your foot is being forced to bear your weight in a shape that is unnatural to the bones, tendons, ligaments of the foot. It’s often discovered after feeling a burning sensation, tingling, or numbness between the toes and in the ball of the foot.
Neuromas occur literally when you force your foot into fashionable but painful shoes. So what happens is that when you squeeze your toes into the pointed end or the tight end of the shoe, it bows and the foot is injured like that.
Sometimes surgery is required or you can talk with your doctor about custom orthotics to wear in shoes better fitted to your feet for foot pain relief.

Why Do High Heels Cause Foot Pain?
Women’s pointed-toe high heels are the No. 1 cause of foot pain. Many women love to dress up with pointed-toe high heels. But you have to take into consideration that your foot is under tremendous pressure from being forced into that shape of the shoe. The nerves get inflamed and the most common injury is what is known as a neuroma.
Your foot is round, it’s not in the shape of a pointy shoe, and it has a wider area in the metatarsal section than a pointy shoe can accommodate. A better shoe can accommodate a custom orthotic. Bring in your designer shoes to find out if a custom orthotic can be made to help reduce foot pain.

Alignment Issues After Hip Replacement?
Other foot pain issues fall under the category of foot alignment issues for which you may need a removable heel lift or put it in the shoe. That’s a different area than orthotics and a doctor must address this issue.
A lot of customers come to Bymar Shoes & Orthotics after they had a hip replacement, or after they have a fracture of the femur.
Sometimes in the surgery, they can get it close to the regular length, but other times people lose a couple centimeters or inches and then, they begin to compensate. There is a very noticeable limp from the difference in height of the legs. Then the pain starts.
When this happens, you must return to the doctor for help to get measured properly. They will give you the exact direction, they may want you to try different lifts. Or they will want to do something permanently. And all of this makes a huge difference so be sure to follow up after surgery with your doctor.
A different way to do it if the discrepancy is minimal — like a quarter of an inch to three-eighths of an inch — they can possibly incorporate the size in a heel of the orthotic.
But, if the discrepancy is more than that, it has to be put out on the outside as the way the shoe lift or shoe elevation is done to compensate for the length discrepancy.
Only a doctor can address this very serious issue after surgery. Go to your doctor to get a prescription for custom orthotics and Bymar Shoes & Orthotics will work with you and your doctor.

Do Shoes Make a Difference?
Your orthotics work together with the shoe you wear. Shoes make a difference to stop the pain by about 20 to 30 percent. A good well fabricated custom orthotic is the other 80 percent. You want both so you can have the full benefit of the custom orthotic.
Byron always lets clients know that the shoes are very important and must be new or in excellent condition. You can’t put new orthotics in old or worn out shoes. The orthotics are built for your shoes so that they fit properly.

Does Your Shoe Fit Properly?
Getting the correct shoe size is something that everybody has to do. Measure your feet before you get into trouble and have your size measured and shoes correctly fitted. Men and women, all ages, no exceptions.
If you are getting custom orthotics you have to leave room so that the orthotics can go in and fit properly. Talk with Bymar Shoes and bring shoes in for review if you’re concerned about tightness or looseness for a custom orthotic.
So you’ve got to try every time that you buy shoes, to have them fit properly. You have to consider shoes for the shape of your foot, and finally, choose a shoe for the work that you do, or for the use of the shoe.
Don’t just go to the store and ask for a size, because when you typically just go buy your size, every brand, every style is different. Most people don’t know what realistically their shoe size is.
Many of the customers come here and say, “I’m size this” and that measurement is either too small or too narrow. It makes a big difference when you have a person trained to fit shoes properly. Taking measurements and making sure that you get the proper size and the proper fit will make a huge difference in foot pain.

Do You Have the Right Shoes for Travel?
If you’re a person who travels a lot, you definitely have to look for someone who will fit your shoes properly. Tell the salesperson when you’re buying the shoes that you will wear the shoes for travel.
If you have the wrong size to begin with, you can imagine what happens when you’re in the plane for a couple hours and your feet swell up. The pain will be very bad and your foot is going to just about to explode in that shoe. But if you at least have the right size you have more room to play.
