Byron Ruiz will build and construct orthotic devices with a prescription. He provides repairs and rebuilds of existing orthopedic and orthotic elements at very reasonable rates. He will not prescribe or diagnose any condition.

Orthopedic Shoe Lifts and Modifications are internal and or external changes made to shoes to stabilize the foot or address various foot problems. Changes involve customizing, fitting and adjusting shoes for comfort.

In addition, ambulation can be improved with various types of rocker soles and elevations. Internal modifications are intended to adapt the interior surface of the shoe for the contours of the patient’s foot, relieving or accommodating conditions.

Foot orthotics and orthoses, can be fabricated from a variety of materials and used in many shoe types: athletic, therapeutic, work or even dress shoes. Clients should discuss their activities to best meet the needs and find the most effective materials for fit and comfort.

Because fit is a critical part of pedorthics, most clients will need more than one appointment to ensure that footwear fits and functions properly, particularly if the prescription includes both an orthosis and a shoe.
